Indian
Rocks Beach was initially developed in the 1920s as a weekend getaway destination
for wealthy inland residents. It's 2.7 miles of quiet beaches are
popular with both families and senior citizens. Although small and
quiet, Indian Rocks Beach is home to some of the best-known restaurants
along Gulf Coast, including Crabby Bills, Guppy's and Brewmasters Steakhouse.
Local artists showcase their work at the Arts and Crafts Festival that is
held in the community every November and April. The local museum holds
pictures and items of historical interest include Indian artifacts, old
photographs, furniture, books, and the original seal of the City of Indian

The adventurer types will definitely enjoy a canoe trip on the Hillsborough river. The Hillsborough is one wilderness treat after another: Turtles sun on fallen logs that litter the river. Alligators siesta in the rushes. You can also spot egrets, herons, ospreys, water snakes, and if you are lucky, the endangered limpkin in the reeds. Bring your camera and sense of adventure. Surrounded
by miles of wonderful white sandy beaches Madeira Beach provides a perfect
place for all kinds of water sports or for just walking on the beach. Madeira
Beach is best known for the famous John's Pass Boardwalk Village, a quaint
shopping district with art galleries, restaurants, and boutiques.
The boardwalk provides a scenic view of the waterfront and overlooks "fish
famous" John's Pass. It is the site of several festivals and special
events, including the John's Pass Seafood Festival in October which draws
more than 100,000 people each year. Casino cruises are also available in

The Guinness Book of World Records recognizes St. Petersburg as having the longest string of consecutive sunny days.
The city has 10 marine institutes making it the largest oceanographic research center in the southeast. Known as the sailing capital of the south, the city's Municipal Marina is the largest in the state. The downtown area features six world-class museums and more than 20 galleries. St. Petersburg features more than 700 events each year including an international sail expo, the annual fall Boat Show, offshore powerboat races, triathlon, cycling and running events.
The Florida International Museum in St. Petersburg holds the world’s largest private collection of the late President Kennedy's personal items.
The Pinellas Trail is a magnificent 34 mile paved bikeway for skating, walking, jogging, or bike riding. It begins in St. Petersburg and leads into Tarpon Springs. The Trail provides a unique greenway corridor linking some of Pinellas County’s most picturesque parks, scenic coastal areas and residential neighborhoods. See the Pinellas Trail Web Site.
St. Petersburg is home to Major League Baseball, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. It is the largest city in the area with a population of 240,196.
Treasure Island incorporates five separate islands into one city. It is immediately west of St. Petersburg and is home to four miles of wide, flat Gulf of Mexico beach that has earned the nickname "Jewel of the Beaches." John's Pass on the north end and Blind Pass on the south provide boaters with fast and easy access to the Gulf of Mexico from Boca Ciega Bay. The area's hotels, restaurants and live entertainment centers provide a fun atmosphere for visitors and locals alike. Treasure Island features a family atmosphere and is known for its events including a regional sport kite competition in January, the Taste of the Beaches food festival in April, "Symphony on the Beach" in May and a week-long Pirate Days extravaganza during the July 4th weekend.
Universal Studios is the world’s largest working film and television studio! It features the opportunity to get a behind the scenes glimpse at film productions as well as all sorts of other attractions, rides and shows.
